What's the Difference between The Kuat Alpha and the Kuat Beta


The main differences between the Alpha and Beta are the security features. The Alpha has an integrated bike lock on the top that is secured in the tube by a magnet, so it does not drag or swing while the racks is folded down. It is assembled with security bolts to prevent bike thieves from being able to disassemble the rack with standard wrenches (The Alpha is the only hitch rack on the market to utilize security bolts). The Alpha also comes with a locking hitch pin.

Some of the other features exclusive to the Alpha are the adjustable/anti sway cradles. These cradles slide apart and lock into place to give a custom fit for nearly any tube size. The Alpha cradles also have a clamping knob that secures it to the tube to prevent walking and sliding. The Alpha also has a knob on the top and bottom brackets to tighten the rack into place while in the carry position, while the Beta has stationary rubber bumpers.
