--Heavy-Duty Steel Construction: The Spare Tire frame weighs 23 pounds and features thick-walled steel tubing to maximize box stability.
--Spare Tire Clearance: The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back edge of the box (when it is closed) is 17.5 inches. However, this frame offers a net clearance distance of 11.5 inches from the center of your vehicle’s hitch pin hole to the back edge of the box’s lid when the box is open.
--High-Rise Design: For maximum ground clearance, the Spare Tire frame features a rise that puts the bolting platform 8.5 inches above the bottom of your vehicle’s trailer hitch.
--Bolting Platform: Features four bolting locations for easy-on/easy-off box attachment. Also features front and rear side reinforcements to distribute the weight of your gear.
--The Spare Tire frame is great for use on RVs, SUVs, and vans that feature rear-mounted spare tires.
--A Hitch Coupling Tightener is included with every Spare Tire frame to reduce side-to-side wobble when the carrier is in use.
A hitch pin is included with this frame, which will secure the frame into your vehicle’s hitch. We highly recommend upgrading to a Locking Hitch Pin (shown below).
