Thule Permanent Base Racks
When to use Thule Permanent Base Racks:
Thule permanent mount roof base racks should be used if your vehicle doesn't have a standard mounting point for a roof rack. For example, if your truck has a canopy or tonneau cover or you have a vehicle with a camper shell, Permanent Base Racks will create a solid mounting point. Thule Permanent Base Racks create a location for you to mount Thule Tracker II Foot Packs, to which you can attach Thule load bars and support a full Thule multipurpose system.
How to use Thule Permanent Base Racks:
Thule Permanent Base Racks attach directly to your vehicle. Often, drilling is required and, as their name suggests, these are designed as permanent roof rack solutions for vehicles that do not otherwise have the ability to support a roof rack. To your Thule Permanent Base Rack, you will attach Thule Tracker II foot packs. These will allow you to attach load bars and then select your roof carrier, roof bag or roof rack.
How to ensure a Proper Fit:
Thule makes a number of different Permanent Base Racks and all are dependant upon the vehicle. Ensuring the proper Permanent Base Rack is relatively easy: only use one of these foot packs if the Thule Fit Guide suggests that you need to or if none of the other Thule base rack options will work for you.
