Roof-top bike racks are perfect for smaller vehicles that do not have a hitch or for multisport bikers who may already have their hitch tied up with other gear. Roof bike racks are available in two styles:
Fork Mount Roof Bike Racks: Require removal of the front wheel, the front fork is clamped to the rack, and the rear wheel is secured by the wheel tray.
Wheel Mount Roof Bike Racks: Do not require removal of either wheel; the bike is secured to the rack's wheel tray by wheel or frame clamps.
All roof-mounted bike racks attach to factory or aftermarket crossbars on your roof. If you don't already have a base rack, check out our full selection of roof base racks for all vehicles. For more information on selecting a roof bike rack, click here.
A roof bike rack is a great option for transporting your bikes on small cars and SUV's. There are two different types of roof bike racks, each with their own advantage. We want to make sure you choose the right hitch bike rack for your and your vehicle so we've put together a Roof Bike Rack Basics guide that addresses some of the key considerations of selecting a roof bike rack.
