A Thule hitch mounted cargo carrier is generally designed for use with a Class III or above trailer hitch. Thule does make one model of the Thule Transporter that fits a Class II trailer hitch. It is very important when using car cargo carriers that you always respect your vehicle's towing weight capacities. Due to their weight (plus the weight of the gear they carry), it is possible that a hitch cargo carrier can place undue stress on your vehicle's frame. However, assuming you keep your maximum gear weight under Thule's recommendation of 165 pounds, you should have no problem whatsoever.
