Kayak racks come in a variety of styles depending upon your needs. For maximum capacity choose a vertical rack or a kayak trailer. For ease of loading by one person choose a saddle rack with load rollers installed. And for a popular all-around rack choose a J-cradle kayak rack.
Vertical Kayak Rack- Best rack for carrying 3 to 4 kayaks on your roof. Carries kayaks on their side for a minimal footprint. Two person loading.
J-Cradle Kayak Rack- Combine ease of loading with a relatively small footprint. Carry up to 4 kayaks on the roof of a larger vehicle. Loading can be done by one person, particularly with a load assist.
Saddle Kayak Rack - Easiest to load rack with kayaks resting on their bottom. Carry up to 2 kayaks with 2 saddle racks. Can be loaded by one person from the back of the vehicle.
Foam and Inflatable Racks- Lowest cost option for carrying up to two kayaks on your roof. These kayak racks do not require a roof base rack.
All kayak racks (except foam and inflatable options) attach to an existing roof base rack. If you don't already have a roof base rack, we offer an excellent selection of base racks in our roof base rack section.
