The roof base racks in this category are designed for vehicles with side rails that are flush to the roof or vehicles with fixed points on the roof. What's the difference between flush and raised side rails? Flush side rails leave little or no gap between the side rail and the roof. Raised side rails have a gap of 1" or more between the roof and the bottom of the side rails. Smaller SUV's and wagons tend to have flush side rails. Mid to large SUV's tend to have raised side rails.
What are fixed points? Integrated fixed points are found on some newer model vehicles like the Mazda 5.
